Clinamen, Celesté Boursier-Mougenot, 2013
Found this lovely gem at the NGV on Friday. The tranquility of the water and ceramic created a rhythm much similar to the sound of wind chimes. Despite its quietness, I was fascinated by the little chips some of the bowls made upon contact, almost as if to leave some sort of mark or violent gesture. It felt that Celesté had much to say on human relations and unbeknownst to the audience they were demonstrating just how isolative people can be.
